Take a look at your life really quick with me.
Let’s look at your room, is it organized and clean?
What about your car? Is it clean inside and out?
Ok, now let’s look at your desk or office space. Are there papers everywhere and little sticky notes covering everything up?
If your answers tell you that you your room, car and office are a mess than you are not on the path to success. I don’t care who you are. You need to start clearing the clutter right now.
You are probably saying to yourself right now: “What the hell is Ben talking about cleaning for? He is a fitness dude.”
Well I am saying this because before you can be successful in sports, fitness and life you have to be equipped with a clear mind that can keep you on track to your goals.
If your surroundings are full of clutter, then your mind is full of clutter and so is your life.
Here are 5 ways to clear the clutter:
1) Set your goals and write them down EVERYDAY.
If you write your goals every day you will be constantly reminded of them and you will be way more likely to achieve them.
Set 3 goals for fitness.
Set 3 goals for your career.
Set 3 goals for your personal life.
Write them everyday until they happen.
2) Clean your surroundings.
Ever been late to a workout because you could not find your favorite clothes? You know you have.
I’ll never forget being late to my first college wrestling workout because my dorm was so messy. I was literally 1 minute late.
Instead of lifting with my teammates I had to do walking lunges for an entire freaking hour!!!! I was never late again.
Clean your room so you know exactly where your workout clothes are. Clean your car so you are not distracted by the junk that is stinking it up. Clean your office so you know where important documents are so that you can keep your business running smooth. Trust me, do these 3 things and your mind will be so much clearer.
You will be able to focus more on your goals and less on the clutter in your life. Not only will your work life be better, but your fitness life will be too. You will be able to go through a workout with 100% focus on just the workout which leads to way better results.
Trust me, clean that stuff right now.
3) Clean your cupboards
When you get home today I want you to walk over to your fridge, cupboards or anywhere you store food.
Are you surrounded by healthy foods or do you have chips, oreos. pop and other unhealthy foods stocked up.
Listen to me: Throw all of your junk in the garbage. Do it!
You still didn’t do it did you……
Throw that ish out!
I know you are probably saying well that is throwing money out of the window and I need that. Well we can’t take money with us when we die. Eating that junk will shorten your life. Would you rather live longer or have more money? Ever think about it like that?
Surround yourself with healthy foods and you will eat healthy. Couple that with focused and intense workouts and you are on your way!
4) Clean your friends
Take a look at who you hang out with.
It’s simple really. Do the people you hang out with push you towards your goals or push you away?
If the answer is the latter then you need to ask yourself if you really want the goals we talked about earlier.
If you do want them then you have to ditch the friends who are taking you away from your goals. Plain and simple see ya later hater’s.
If your friends push you to workout harder, stay task oriented and push you to succeed in life then keep them around. They will help you.
