Are you the person who is out every weekend at the grocery store?
My wife is awesome at grocery shopping so I let her do her thing. Why is she so awesome? She knows how to buy healthy and save money at the same time. I’m a lucky dude.
If you are the person who provides the food in the house you have some huge responsibilities! You set the habits and choices of your kids for the rest of their lives. Buy them junk and they will crave junk. Buy healthy and you will set them up for success in sports and in the workplace. It all starts with what you buy at the grocery store.
Here are the Dirty Dozen and the Clean Fifteen.
Dirty Foods (Go organic)
Sweet Bell Peppers
Why are these Dirty? Well according to the annual report from the Environmental Working Group these foods contain the most pesticides and GMO’s. Simply put, they have way too many chemicals and you don’t want to put these into your body.
Clean Fifteen (Save your money)
These are the clean ones where you can really save some mulah! No need to buy these organic.
2 More Tips
1) If it has more than 5 ingredients, then you shouldn’t buy it.
2) Stay on the outside aisles. The inside aisles are where they pack all of the processed and unhealthy foods. Work the perimeter where the healthy stuff is.
This is only the beginning. Stay tuned for more tips on grocery shopping and healthy clean eating.
Remember you are either chasing success or waiting for it to come.
